Halfway through our meal, I discreetly gave the ring to one of the managers and requested to have a special dessert made up at the end. We decided to order the monthly degustation course. The Japanese style mats were comfy and you actually sink your legs into a hollow area below the table. We had to take our shoes off before entering.
Upon arrival we were taken to a private room at the back of the restaurant. The manager suggested a private room for the occasion. I was lucky to have made a reservation for that day, as it was pretty packed. Our experience will be our greatest memory.
I had the same idea to propose at Shiki, and although I have never eaten here, I've always passed by and have walked in once mistaking it for another restaurant. I been wanting to tie the knot myself, for quite a while. One of my friends proposed to his future wife at Shiki and told me it was an amazing day.
